Blueprint tested both lancet types and found the plastic version dramatically skewed the microplastic count. The metal lancet is a requirement for accurate testing, and the test instructions emphasize this. Bryan noted the metal lancet is like a ‘little metal sword’ and can be psychologically difficult to self-administer.

The plastic lancet does cause a lot of plastic exposure in the test. So you need to use the metal lancet in order to get the accurate results.
